Tip-26: Stress and Stopping Smoking

Using cigarettes during time of stress. Cigarette smoking to calm yourself down is a false association. Cigarettes cannot calm you down; nicotine is a stimulant to your nervous system. When you get stressed do you think of going to Starbucks and taking a triple shot of espresso to calm down? Of course not. That is why we know for a fact that cigarette smoking to calm you during times of stress is a false association, false because the bases of upon which it forms is false. Every association with smoking cigarettes is false. This is what you need to break to become a nonsmoker. This is why hypnosis is extremely powerful because those false associations occur in the same area of your brain where hypnosis is effective. The clearest way to do it is to dissolve those triggers and associations to become free so that you can properly and effectively relax and calm your nervous system when you become stressed.
